Evaluation

You will receive a thorough evaluation to determine the cause(s) of your Smell and Taste Disorder. We will review your medical records, obtain a complete history and physical, perform comprehensive diagnostic procedures and then design a treatment plan for your specific needs.

Conditions We Treat

Allergic Rhinitis – Inflammation in the nasal passages after exposure to allergens

Anosmia – Inability to detect odors

Agnosia – Inability to classify or contrast odors, although able to detect odors

Ageusia – Inability to taste

Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS) – Burning in the mouth without an obvious cause

Cacosmia – Inappropriate detection of a normal smell as foul or unpleasant

Dysgeusia – Distorted ability to taste

Dysosmia – Distorted identification of smell

Heterosmia – Inability to distinguish between certain odors

Hyposmia – Decreased ability to detect odors

Hypogeusia – Decreased ability to taste

Nasal Obstruction – Narrowing of the nasal cavity from any pathological cause

Nasal Polyps – Soft, noncancerous growths on the lining of the nasal passages or sinuses

Parosmia – Altered perception of smell in the presence of an odor, usually unpleasant

Phantosmia – Perception of smell without an odor present

Sinusitis – Cavities around nasal passages (sinuses) become inflamed and swollen

Xerostomia – (Dry Mouth)
